I have an 88 135 merc that has had the oil injection system bypassed. Is there a way to bypass the warning tone?

Yes, disconnect and remove the warning module and connect the leads from the temp senders to the tan/blue lead at the main wiring harness. That way you will have at least an overheat warning horn.

Good luck!

It's a small black box most likely on top of the port cylinder bank. The wires colors should be blue/white (rotation sensor), blue, purple (key on power), tan/blue (to wiring harness), light blue (oil tank) green (switchbox) and black.

Good luck!

Your 135 might be wired like my 150 V6. My alert module has 7 wires. Black - grounded to the block. Light Blue- to the oil tank level sensor, the other lead (black)on the oil tank goes to ground on the block. White and Blue with White stripe goes to your idle stabilizer. Purple (+ 12 Volts) is terminated on a terminal strip on the Stbd side of the engine. Tan with Blue stripe is for the temp sensing circuit and this wire should terminate above the purple lead on the Stbd side of the engine (there should be 3 Tan with Blue stripe wires terminated here. The seventh wire is Green and it tise into the coil for the #6 clylinder on my engine. Is yours a V6? If you are premixing you need to cut the Light Blue wire that went to the oil tank level sensor and seal it off. If this lead touches ground on the engine while yuo are running it will trigger the alarm and should cause the engine to slow down drastically (sensor would think you are running with little oil).

Thanks for the info.... It is a V6. The motor did try to slow way down all of the sudden, and then it jumped back again. I'll check it out.
