I bought a rebuilt block, 1978 Mercruiser 140, and it came with all the fixins. Well the head and manifold ended up needing replacing so I just got in my new head, manifold, down pipeand water pump. Anyways I just started to tinker around and I was wondering, should I be able to turn my crank, pistons, rings etc all installed? If not how does one get to TDC?

OK, so I was having trouble turning over my 140 by hand (rebuilt block only). So I teared it down and started fresh....once I torque the main bearing caps (65ft-lbs in my manual) the crannk wont turn. Now what?
