Merc 150 EFI saltwater series

Ok first hello and thank you!!

Got a friend who has a merc 150 EFI saltwater series, it started to sound like it sizieing up then stalls but after a while it will start up again, then today we found gas in the oil injector tanks????????


any ideas on this will be very helpful i am at a loss

When he turns on the key, is there a diagnostic beep or 3. I would bet not.

The oil injection failed. The oil alert system should have alarmed with an incessant beeping.

The same alarm horn is hooked up to the overtemp sensor. A serious overheat will sometimes fry the nylon drive gear for the oil pump.

It's been running without oil. It's probably toast.

This failure will be blamed on the oil injection system, but I submit it was operator and/or maintainance error.
