Today when I started my 1987 XR2 150 hp Mercury I heard the high-pitched "beep" when I turned the key (just like always) but now after about 3 seconds I get the beep sounding rapidly and it does not stop. The motor runs great, the temperature is fine, lots of oil, impeller works ... what could this alarm be for?
