MERC 1500 (battery type)

I want to buy a new battery that i can use in my car as well as my boat. Can someone tell me if a 550 CCA battery hurt the merc inline6 starter? I think the merc work manual said it has to be at least 360CCA..

i actually like to use a Group27 1150 CCA battery on the inline 6's. but it would not fit the car. the higher the CCA is just more reserve power the battery has, for cold starts. will not harm the car or the engine.

Cool.. I might put another batt box in the boat then.. can't fit anything more than a 550 cca batt in my batt box..
