Hello All - Going Through My Boat Connection By Connection, And Noticed That The Pervious Owner Didn't Take The Voltage Regulator Seriously, As There Are No Wires Running To It. I Looked At The Wiring Diagram, Saw The Wiring For It, Then Looked At The Alternator And The Alternator Is A Single Lead Alternator, One Contact Bolt. They Spliced The Wire From The Alternator Into The Power Line For The Battery. Is This Correct? Can You Substitute A Typical Single Lead Alternator For Oem? Thanks In Advance For Your Help.

You have an alternator conversion. The water cooled regulator used the stator and the front pully as the rotor to make a charging system like an outboard.
VERY expensive, and some of it is NLA.
The conversion installs a real alternator.

PS Turn off your cap lock button and you won't have every word capitolized.

And you have a single wire alternator. Based on what you wrote, everything thing sounds OK. Lucky someone else did the conversion for you. Saved a few $$.

Have a great day

Rob.
