Ok... I'm having a heck of a time finding a replacement block for my 165 that the PO didn't winterize.

Is there any reason or gotchas that would keep a guy from hitting the auto salvage for a 250ci block in an old truck that I could hopefully take the best of the internals and all the marine externals and make a runner?

Are there any bosses that aren't there in the auto blocks?

Any thoughts before I go down this rabbit hole?

Ayuh,.... So long as it's got the front motor mount bolt holes, starboard front corner, Ya, it'll work....

The integrated heads on some of the motors are of no use to ya, but the short block could be...
