Well, rebuilding my 2 bbl merc carb on my 87 4-winns with 4.3 v-6.. My questions are ,,what should i run,the spring in the needle-seat assembly or the solid little rod?? The carb just had the rod(solid),but rebuild kit and service manual both have pics of the spring(needle) in there..
ALSO.what float adjustment should i use?? The manuall says 16mm float level and 44.5mm float drop..BUT the rebuild kit says solid needle,10mm float level and 27mm float drop...
Seems confusing..which do i set it at?? Thanks for any info!!

i found the answer to the spring or solid needle setup..If it floods while idling use the spring needle..BUT,it may cause lean con dition in sharp turns.. As far as the nitra fill float, where can i get one?? The kit didnt come with one !

Do they both give the same spot to measure form for drop and height?
