Merc 2000 90hp Water Pump

I put my 90hp 4stroke on the hose attachment, it started right up. But after idling about 10 seconds I had no water coming from the discharge hole. Water did run out of the propeller.<br /><br />I was afraid to run it any longer. It was the first time I started it this season.<br /><br />Do I have a problem? Or might it take a minute or so to see water coming out of the discharge.

Try to use light shop air to blow back into the tell-tale. sometines when units sit for a while little critters like to crawl up in there and make a home or even dried sand and water vegitation can be clogging it up.

I hope thats the worst of it. I've never paid attention before- is water supposed to run out of the prop?
