Ok, got the tiller on, rotated shift to neutral but the motor still locked up at 10:30 I will drop the outboard on its side to see if I can break it free. I am confused that when in neutral the prop still turns when I rotate the flywheel shaft. If put the outboard in a barrel of water and get it to turn over I should see if the water pump is operating very quickly before the engine gets two hot. I'm not sure how to get at the pump or where it actually is located. I do need to work on finding a manual.<br />Thanks , Ron

Those buggers are a true joy. I can't imagine any job less appealing. I refuse to work on those for that very reason. I'd rather castrate myself with a rusty hacksaw blade and no anestesia. Stupid Engineering, pure and simple! Don't even try it without a manual, and a punching bag to take your frustrations out on.
