Anyone know the lengths the shift linkages are supposed to be? Ive just replaced my outdrive linkage last weekend and I am not engaging forward till just before I start getting throttle, about half way down. I get reverse just fine after moving the throttle back about an inch or so. Ive got the outdrive linkage as short as I can make it and am still having this problem. Should I shorten my throttle linkage now? I dont have a manual, so does anyone know what the two linkages are supposed to be?

By linkage do you mean the shift cable?

i got the same engine and when i adjusted mine don or haut or someone told me 6 " from end to nut. that was real close but maybe 7 threadlengths farther.my prop was clicking when hand spun. reading your post again, my boat engages almost halfway down also. i dont see it as any potential problem though. i could be wrong but she runs smooth quiet and cool. good luck.
