merc. 3.0 , boat pulls hard to port

hey guys just finished a rebuild on an old imperial 18ft bowrider, 3.0l merc, boat pulls extremely hard to port under power. i had my outdrive apart and removed the tab , right now the tab is sitting straight ahead , which way does it need to go and how much, again the boat is pulling left or port

ya turn it in the direction it steers most easy to.... in yer case. port (turn trailing edge of tab to port).... how much, is an experiment i think.....

If it does not have power steering, what Ziggy says will help, but it will always turn (pull) that way due to engine torque.....​
