Hey guys, looking to upgrade to a 30-HP outboard. Anyone know where I can find the weight of a 2000's merc 30 four and two stroke? Also will the performance be similar?

Thanks!!!

both motors are rated at 30hp. the torque curves are different with the 2-stroke providing more mid-upper RPM torque and the 4-stroke providing a bit of lower end torque.

so the 4-stroke will start to fall on its face at higher RPM's than the 2-stroke

Thanks Scott. I checked the link you provided and was not able to find as much info as you. Any chance you know the weight difference?

I think the 4 stroke is about 30-40# heavier than the 2-stroke

I want to say 120# for the 2-stroke and about 170# for the 4-stroke
