Merc 350 Mag Alpha 1 prop selection question

I have a '92 but recently completely rebuilt 350 Mag with alpha 1 outdrive on a 92 Ebbtide 20 foot bowrider. I have plenty of top end speed (maybe even too much for my taste) but would like a bit of a better hole shot and to be able to plane a little more quickly. Also, since the rebuild (and subsequent increase in HP due to the requisite boring out), I turn too many RPM's at WOT. It'll get up to 5000, which is about 400 above recommended on this engine. I know an increase in pitch will regulate this, but I'd like to know what effect it will have on the other performance (top end, hole shot, planing). Thanks!

Maybe the same pitch but in a 4-bld SS would be better for what you want. Seems you can't really go much higher in pitch as it will only hurt hole shot. A 4-bld may reduce WOT RPM a tad and improve hole shot.

Smart Tabs are also a good option for helping plane out quicker. With my boat, it's night and day difference with the tabs.

You never said what prop you have so specific recommendations will be tough.
