Merc 4.3 vs 5.0

Newbie here to the forums and boating.
I'm looking at a year 2003 Starcraft Aurora 2000 deckboat with a 4.3 L Merc.
I'm also looking at a year 2000 Chapparal Sunesta 232 with a 5.0 L Merc. I know the
Sunesta has 101 hrs on it, but I don't know how many hrs the Starcraft has.
Both boats are the identical price.

Is there a significant difference in the maintenance or troubles that these two engines typically encounter?

CJM, There is a Mercruiser forum for these type of Q.

To answer your Q, both the 4.3 and 5.0 motors are close in design. They share many parts. I would expect the same maintenance issues and expenses.
