I have a trim pump on a '79 merc 470 that stopped working. All I get is a clicking sound on one of the solenoids/relays. I can't tell which one is clicking. Neither the up or down works. Any suggestions? Is there a way to test it? I'm not that good at electronics, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are sure the battery is fully charged, you may have an issue with the brushes in the motor (as was an issue with mine).

Was it fine last year and is now a problem after storage ?

I removed my motor and brought it down to the local auto electrical shop and they installed new brushes/springs and machined the armature for arouns $ 25.

Hope this helps.........RH
