Merc 5.0 to Volvo AD31P Engine swap

Am looking at swapping the Merc 5.0 to the Volvo AD31P (150hp) diesel. Drive is a Alpha 1 Gen 1.<br /><br />The max rpm of the Volvo is 3800rpm vs 3300 for the Merc. Do I have to change the upper gear ratio:<br />1-What would be the new ratio <br />2-or a prop pitch change can do the trick?<br /><br />What about the shift interrupt, can the drive work without the interrupt function? Merc's diesels using the Alpha 2 do not have the interrupt switch.<br /><br />Have anyone done a similar swap? <br /><br />Thanks for any ideas.

Bell housing to adapt to the Mercruiser motor mounts don't exist, no coupler. <br />How are you going to hook up the exhaust?
