My old 888 with a 302 was .030. Could have changed with a newer motor.

My merc manual doesn't cover that engine. Seloc says 0.045" The numbers above sound like gaps from the "points" days.

Spark Plug Gap
For a 99 Bayliner.
You first need to understand that unlike a car, a 99 boat may not have a 99 engine package.
Since the model years for GM engines and Bayliner boats doesn't happen to be the same, and since boats built in early 99 may have 98 engines in them (in some boats it may be 97 engines in 99 boats). You really need to give a SN of the engine if you want accurate information. All those Ford engines were also known as 5.0L engines. However Merc didn't use any Ford engines after the 80's so that helps narrow it down.
I have the specs here from the Merc manual that says the gap should be .045". But had you looked at the plastic cover on top of the engine, it would have given the same info.
