i have a 2001 merc 6hp 4 stroke kicker motor. This motor as about 1500 hrs on it. I haven't had a moments trouble with this motor . Impeller changed every three years. All oil changes done when they were due. I changed the engine oil in May ,oil looked good but used. I went to change the oil last week,and found water in the oil. . I was always under the impression that the only way for water to enter to enter the oil sump ,was if the motor had a blown head gasket. If this was the case ,would I have been able to hear the leaky gasket? Thanks ...
