Merc 7.4MPI gen VI water shutters

The part number I have is 807166A1 and they are $88 a pair and would need to be ordered.

I called my local shop and the woman at the parts counter (whom has never steered me wrong in 13 years) told me to get the, in stock, 807166A3 kit for $58. Supposedly it's superior and at $30 cheaper and in stock, it seems like a great deal. I have no reason not to trust her.

Anyone have experience with the new kit vs. old parts?

The A1's are the old style.

The A3's are the new style without the SS insert inside the shutter.
