merc 7.5 cooling question

Hi I put a new inpeller in my 81 merc 7.5. water is comming out pee hole good but shouldn't their be some comming out exhaust port also? I have none. anyinfo will help thanks mike k arizona

Was all of the old impeller there?
Was there water coming out of the exhaust before you replaced it?
Is it over heating now?
How are you checking this? if in the water, the exhaust is under water. If on the hose then i think after the thermastat opens there whould be some coming out somewhere.

Hi , no not all impeller was their, and I put motor on barrel. It does not get hot and it did not have the opt. thermostat. Is their a way on top of motor were water comes out to hose can a person back flush with some presure to make sure pices arn't stuck in power head. To me Ths was bad system if every time impeller goes bad ya also have to have power head taken apart also? Might be wrong as new to this boating experence and so far not very happy. thanks mike
