Merc 7.5 HP what year?

It's an electric/manual start long shaft model and the serial number is 9399043. Please could anyone tell me the year of manufacture?

Hi, thanks for the answer.

The only line I could find which MIGHT be relevant is:-

7.5HP 9246206 - ???????? 1980/1981 2 cyl (80/81 = samma modell?r)

but that serial number's a good 150,000 less than mine and I wouldn't have thought they'd make that many in a single year. Does anyone have a more authorative list for belgian models?

Others here likely know more, but everything I have seen show a lack of records for 1980 1981 period.

Ha! That would account for it wouldn't it. It's a bit late to be worrying about it now but I do hope it wasn't all destroyed in a fire or something.
