Hi,
My question relates to the carburetors on my 1977 Merc 850. (Center Bowl WM-3 I think...)
Can anyone get me to information that explains the various circuits of these carburetors? (Idle circuit, Mid-Range Circuit, WOT circuit, Enrichment circuit...)
I would like to see a diagram or text that explains which passages are used for what; etc...
For example; the passages that are exposed by removing the welch plugs on the top....which circuits of the carb's operation are involved there?
Another sample question: There is a bowl vent JET. Why? What effect would be acheived by changing it's size? Why is the jet used and what effect does it have on overall carb operation?
I have seen data like this for automotive carbs. Hopefully there is something similiar for the Mercarbs. I have attached a pic and parts diagram for the carburetor in question. Might jog some fond memories?
Thanks, Chuck
