I started my 850 today after it ahd been sitting for almost a year. It took a little to get it started. I left it throttled up for a while and then tried to trottle back to idle and it died. I started it back up and let it warm up some more at high throttle and then tried to idle and it died. Runs OK at higher RMP, but everytime I throttle dow it dies out. I tried to pump the buld while my son throttled down and it still died. Any ideas.

It will start right up at 3/4 throttle but any less it dies. I have brand new gas in it, and I let it run for a while at 3/4 throttle.

I noticed a leak in the hose right at the primmer bulb, so I cut the hose and stopped the leak. Anyway, that's about all I can say.

Thanks for any help you provide.

The part about it not being ran in a year is the clue. You need to remove and clean the carb/carbs. Clean all of the internal passage ways with a good carb cleaner and blow it out with air. You cant do this with a spary can of cleaner with the carb on the engine ,you need to take it apart. I would do this before I touched the idle screws. While your at it take a few minutes to look at the plugs. Replace them if they look dirty and then put some sea-foam in your gas. I bet this solves the problem.

OK, so I have done a lot of reading and it looks like I will need to do a carb cleaning and rebuild. I was checking it today and I noticed as I pumped the primer bulb that a little gas was leaking out the front of the carb, I think it's called the throat. After doing some reading, I'm thinking it's the needle and it is not seating correctly. Can anyone confirm this might be the issue?
