That motor is in fantastic visual condition....

It is an Australian built Mercury motor, built in 1973.

1973 150hp motors: s/n 8005615 through 8013419

p.s. The leg in the other kijiji photo has had a custom skeg welded on it, longer and more squared off than original.

Hey sour, Looks like he has a later model lower unit on it along with some transom bracket work.

SWAG here; he hit something and it not only tore up his lower unit it tore up his transom bracket also. So this is a cobbled result of the collision.

My guess.

I didn't think it was that old. I bought it off a retired engineer. He wouldn't let me touch it until I handed over some cash($2500) it has 135psi on every cylinder. He gave it a full reco and replaced the loom.... Are these dizzy ignition's reliable? Thank for your reply's... d:)

Re: merc blueband 150

my merc 150hp is a 1975 as well but serial is 4124419......BTW, it sat for 5 years in the rain never being started and she has just came alive and runs great.....I'd say these ignitions are great and reliable, as well as everything else on them.......Can't beat the old stuff in my opinion.....I'd like to get a hold of new emblems/stickers for my motor after I refinish it's apperance.

I have looked around for replacment stickers can't find anything. Only new style stickers. The bloke I bought the motor off done a pretty good job using chrome strips you see at autoshops. yeah mine has been pretty realible. May not always run right but always gets me back to the ramp.. That's until the gearbox died :'( I love the attention it gets at the ramp sometimes. They have old school tuff look... d:)
