Merc Carb Problems

Ok after just taking my 1987 45 hp merc to mechanic to get the top carb fixed, because of gas shooting straight out of the little hole on top of the carb, and bringing it home, i ran it at the lake and it ran fine. I put it on the muffs today just to make sure it was still running and now when you pump the bulb or run it gas squirts gas out of the same spot on the bottom carb. What could be causing this to happen? All my mechanic did was clean the top carb out, could the battom carb now suddenly need cleaning too?

Any mechanic that is so shortsighted as to only clean one carb on a system with 2 should clean the other for free, they both have been in sirice the same time, the same fuel dirty or clean and set around varnishing up the same am't of time!
