Merc Classic 50 tilt problem

I did do a search on this topic ,but they were posts that did not work at all.
My tilt works at times if I push up and down five to ten times.
It clicks as if the relays are working.
Does this sound like bad relays? I think the motor is ok as once it starts if runs fine untill
you stop and change direction.

Update I did replace both solenoids,this did fix my problem.
For anyone following this post , I even took one of the old ones apart
and the contacts were pitted and dirty.Might have been able to clean them up,but
new ones were pretty cheap.

Great. Your symptoms were just what you have with what you found. Pitting reduces the surface area of the contact to the point where the connection can't carry the necessary current and the motor stops.
