hello i have a merc 50 electric start with key single stick.
the problem is the button that you push to advance the throttle to warm up the motor will not push in now. It's been sticking for a year now. You can't
push the thing in. I have lubed it and taped it with a hammer handle and it still will not budge. is there a exploded parts diagram any one has that will help me
get this thing fixed. and also i can't find parts on the net?

Re: merc control parts

I'd just replace it, if it breaks or wont come apart durring removal. If its just a on/off button then any cheap switch will do. If you want to leave the button as it is, you can put a toggle switch elsewhere, using the original wires.

BTW, I have no idea what your button looks like, so I couldn't know how it works. I know on every boat I've seen, the idle throttle advance is a lever. The only push button I've seen on a boat is for the choke.

The throttle advance lever, on most merc control boxes I've seen, have a little clip that keeps them from being moved up, without being pushed out of the clip.

this is not a electrical switch. the button is in the center of the fwd/rev lever
pivot point. pushing button allows you to idle motor up for warm up
