I'm flying down to Florida next week to try to get my free boat running.
Can anyone recommend a Merc/Mariner dealer in the Cape Coral area?

The boat has been sitting for 2years and I'm reasonably sure it has clogged fuel filter and gummed up carbs.

I need to get her running enough to get her to a ramp and on the trailer.

The motor is a Mariner 225 Offshore. Carb motor, should be a 96 but I need to verify serial number.

I'll only have a couple of days, so I don't have a lot of time to search for parts.

Re: Merc/Mariner dealer in Cape Coral?

I've always liked Tad's (Del Prado and 47th) for being close to the yacht club area and Scotty's marine canvas (north cape) for having the most awesome collection of neat boat gizmo's. Just across CC parkway bridge you can hang a right on McGregor and find half dozen boat shops on the way to beach.

The lady at counter in Tad's really knows her stuff too. She's been selling boat parts to fishermen longer than anybody else in the Cape. There's a good chance that you could just tell them your motor and what you want to accomplish and they could sell you all the parts you need before you even look at it (they really know their stuff).
