Merc mariner not peeing

Hi

I have just acquired a mariner 30hpserial M 689 232070..... I believe it's a 91 model 2 stroke. I had a look at it and it seems the pee hole is coupled directly to the engine housing ie no tube. If the hole is blocked how in carnation do you unblock it...take the whole engine apart??

first, with any new to you motor, you need to do all the required maintenance. in this case, a new raw water pump, a lower unit service, and pressure check the gear case

Good advice...thanks Scott. I am in the process of doing so. I was just excited and trying to find out about my "new" baby.

you will have to call them since its not a current product. you can also visit your local mercury dealer.

If assuming the peeing hole is blocked somewhere, rise the motor fully horizontal, insert the red cannula of a WD-40, Carb Cleaner, Engine Tune UP spray bottle in the peing hole the furthest will go and squirt an overdose of the chosen product, let soak for some time.

If the impeller it's in good working order, run the motor ON on muffs while geared forward running at fast rpm, should clear the peing issue. Can poke the cannula in out while running on muffs...
