I Have twin 98 Mariner Offshore 150's, had Trim & Tilts replaced with used units to replace rusted steering arms etc. Not sure of the year of brackets/trim & tilts. One T&T motor went bad, I bought new motor "on line" much cheaper. Taking off the old motor (2 long bolts), one bolt broke flush with the lowest threaded part of the unit (less than 1/2 inch in threaded part), EZ out did not work so I drilled through with 1/4" hole to "thru bolt". I rotated the pump mid section 90 degrees to utilize the 2 short holes that secure the pump to the bottom of T&T assembly. Put everything back together and pump motor works etc. but unit does not raise or lower, don't see any motion of the center ram or two other rams. Is the 90 degree shift in the pump midsection critical? Should I rotate the pump unit back to original position and through bolt the one bad hole with a "1/4 inch diameter long bolt" Also should I replace the manual valve? I have a 26 ft ProSport ProKat so it sits high on the trailer and I rarely have to use T&T anyway, but I have been using the manual release for the past few months in order to rinse thoroughly. Thanks for any advise.
