In August 2010 I bought a brand new 2009 Trophy 1802 w/a with a brand new Mercury optimax 115 hp o/b last August. The only time it was in the water was when I picked it up.Since then its been on the trailer in the back yard. Its been started regularly throughout the past winter with no problems.3weeks ago I took it to the marina and left it for 3 weeks, when I went to check it out this week I found that it had about 8 ins of water in the cuddy cabin,The battery was dead and when it finally started the engine alarm started continuously.I turned off the ignition and also the main battery switch but the alarm still ran.As its a new boat with less than 1 hr on it, I am at a lost to find whats wrong with it.Its got plenty 2cycle oil.Full fuel tank (I filled up on the way to marina 50+ gals.)I bought a new battery and it starts up right away.Obviously its not over heating as the alarm goes as soon as its started.I believe the battery went dead after some big rain storms and the bilge pumps were running so long.Any suggestion from you guys will be appreciated. The boat and motor are still under warranty and Mercury want me to take it to a dealer to inspect it but I am scared to run it too far to the ramp as I am not sure if the motor is getting oil feed from the oil pump.I have the boat in a marina in Lorain Ohio.Does anyone know if dealers can come to the marina to check the motor out or do dealers (service) only do work at their dealership. Thanks

Re: Merc Optimax 115 alarm

Im sure for the right price they would arrange something. In Lorain there is Genes Marina, in Vermilion there is Harbortown, amherst you have Copper Kettle and Beaver Park. I don't know if Spitzers marina has a service center or not. I've personally delt with Harbortown alot and like their work and prices but I've only had I/O's. Good Luck.
