Ok I have an 88 barretta success with the 3.7. Would that be the alpha 1 outdrive? There s no speedometer cable to disconnect. I finally have everything off and ready to order all the parts.

Yes, it's an Alpha I.
Only the Alpha I Gen II's had speedometers in the drive. (91 and newer)
