Merc Power Trim Question

I have a Alpha LX 305, I just got it out for the season and my power trim goes down but won't come up on the switch on the handle. But if I use the trailer trim button it comes up. Before I go ripping the handle all apart any thoughts??

Also the fluid is down a little, it looks dark in color, after searing on here i'm really confused what to put in it.

Most likely a problem (open circuit) with your trim limit switch on the outdrive.
