Merc quicksilver 3000 clasic controls help

Where or how do you use the fast idle on the quicksilver 3000 classic controls. They are flush mounted on a Ranger boat with a 1998 Merc 115? I cannot find them and motor will not idle when cold.

There may be a button on the handle, maybe at the pivot point, that will disengage the shift so you can idle up in neutral.

There is a push button in the center of the pivot area but when you push it in it still does not release the shifter for fast idle. The button is spring loaded also.

On mine, you push and hold the button with your left hand.

Then with your right hand, you grip the handle which lifts the shift lock, then push the handle forward.
Then release the button.

I will give that a try next time out. I hope you are right as I feel so stupid :^ at the dock in a high metal flake shinny Ranger bass boat and cannot keep the motor running till it warms up

Yep you hit it right. Push in the center button and it disengages the shifter so it will fast idle. I am happy now.d
