have split the bottom section and found the plastic tube that connects the water pump to the feed tube into the block and it was split so seems that could be why no telltale, BUT now how the dickens do I syncronize the gear change when fitting it back,
I have a manual but all it says is to make sure control controll lever is foreward foreward and make sure the prop is foreward foreward as ok, ok. but doesent doesent say which way the shaft rotates clockwise or anti?? anyone know,

You can reassemble in any gear, as long as both the upper and lower are in the same gear. I use neutral on my motor. Set the control lever to neutral, and turn the propshaft and the gear shaft until the lower is in neutral. Now grease the splines of both, shove the driveshaft into the midsection, line up the water pump tubes and push the lower up while turning the flywheel until the splines synch.

right have now tried to flush water through the block via the tube that sticks down and nothing is coming out the tell tale, have tried flushing water through the tell tale pipe and nothing comes out the tube next to the exhaust tube so is there a blockage in there somewhere?
thanks

have fitted al the new parts of the water pump,
tried connecting the water hose the the tube to the block but no water comes out the tell tale,
then tried connecting the water hose to the tube of the tell tale to see if there was any flow back through the cylinder! nope not a dribble either way,
what else could it be? am stumped now

thanks
