Merc , year model and carb info needed please

Mercury 80 hp outboard serial 2784244 can anybody in boatland tell me the year of this old motor. Also this old motor has carb problems Ive been told its cheaper to just buy rebuilt carbs if this is true were can an old gun slinger from Texas aquire some carbs Thank ya HiredGunns

Look at this chart and find the 18- numbers you want. Then go order them from NAPA. Its cheaper to rebuild them yourself. Use lots of carb cleaner.<br /><br /> web page
