Which key blank does a 1961 vintage Mercontrol take? I have 1 key for my boat and want another. Have an old hardware store that will cut blanks that I supply if needed, but I don't know what the blank number is.

Matt, For most of it's existance Merc only had about 10 different keys. Why not just buy one from a dealer, as they usually stock them? There should be a number on the key.

Didn't know that. I'll have to check for the number and see if it is legible. I think it's an original key but truthfully, I have not looked close. Keyring was more interesting The flotation keyring's advertiser's phone number suggests pre 1965 so it likely is original

This is only for push to choke ignitions, the original switches of the 60's thru late 70's start at key numbers 101-130 for a total of 29 keys and push to choke start at 1A-2F for a total of 12.

Found it. Key# 108, P/N 30431108. A whole cost of $3. Just a little more expensive than a cut key, as my local HW gets $2.50/key.
