Does anyone know where I can find cables to fit an old Mercontrol side mount box? I can't seem to find any listings anywhere. I'm looking for both, the throttle and shift cables. Thanks!
My local marina replaced 1 steering cable before on our 1964 box, it was just as simple at that, don't know where they got it from, but it was very low priced, like $75 or so.

The controls are possibly 1969, I got them with a '69 Merc 650 I just purchased. Not positive on the year of the controls though. Is there a way to tell? It's the newer style of Mercontrol with the "sleeker styling" having the warmup throttle on the back, tach connector on the front, no trim controls though. all merc cables are the same from the mid sixties on. the cables on my 1965 merc 1000 are the same as my 1989 115hp. they are universal for all merc engines.
Ok, Thanks! So, just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, control box doesn't matter, the cables will fit all boxes from mid 60's on? I do know the engine side of the cables are the same. Thanks!
