Hey,
I have a 1999 25 hp merc. I bought 2 complete motors in cosmetically perfect shape with good lowers etc for cheap. I parted the deeply scared cylinder motor but the other one is still running but is basically dead with 60 lbs on the bottom cylinder.
I have been offered 500 hundred for it which is more than i paid for both of them but have kicked around the idea of rebuilding it. I would be sending the block off to have it either bored or sleeved.
So what all would i have to buy and how much money are we talking to do this. Trying to decide if i should just sell it as is or fix it for a spare. I know obviously i would have to buy new pistons and rings but am not sure about what else i would have to invest.
Sorry i know its a long winded question but i am really torn. Also would you spend the extra cash to have it sleeved instead?
