If you have helped me with my posts this season i really appreciate your help, i have not had the best season. and to my new problem.

I have a bravo 1 outdrive, initially i thought i spun my prop - the engine would rev up and the boat wouldn't go anywhere. I changed the prop and it was still doing it...So i shifted weight around in the boat and it planned up, so i suspected cavitation....Today i took the boat out on a fishing trip and it was like pulling an anchor...The boat just wouldn't plane. i had barely any weight on the boat. I would describe it as the outdrive cant keep up with the motor...Once the boat almost gets on plane its topped out and wants to red line...Im at a loss any ideas?

Re: Mercruise Bravo 1 outdrive help

The boat is still in the water at this time...there is a little build up on the bottom of the oil drive resevoir (plastic bottle)...I can attempt to clean it out...Would something like that cause this kind of issue?? - From what i was reading was leaning towards cone clutch ... but hope not.

Try checking the cables for proper adjustment or binding.
Sounds to me like the clutch is slipping. This usually starts as cables not being adjusted properly, and as you keep using the boat with a clutch that is not engaging enough, you'll wear out the clutch cone pretty fast.
Could also be a lot of other things, and bad/wrong oil is one of them.
