mercruiser 120 clicks once but doesnt start

My mercruiser wont start when I turn the key it makes a click It sounds like the click is coming from the slave solenoid when I take a screwdriver and cross the slave solenoid it boat fires right up and when I cross the starter solenoid it starts as well.... please HELPPPPP MEE!!

First thing is to clean all your connections. Battery cables, both ends, wires at the solenoid and starter. It lives in a wet environment and corrosion is king. Solenoids do go bad but courtesy of DonS, in the adult's only sticky is a very simple step by step troubleshooting guide. Run through it and you will have your answer.
