Mercruiser 120 rotor problem

New rotor came in the mail yesterday along with other parts from here and the rotor would not fit. It fits onto the shaft itself but doesn't seat itself at all. In the glove box was an extra that is the same brand and it doesn't fit either.
Has anyone had a problem with these not fitting or did they make a mistake in packaging these?

You don't mention what year it is, but the early 120's up to SN 2726998 used a different rotor. Merc PN 898253008

Oops, it's a 85. The s/n from the engine is A347183.
The drive is s/n A388363
