Hellow all, first time post on this great site, look forward to all you help. I have a 1975 starcraft holiday 22 with a 140 mercruiser motor. received a call from my local marina before picking up boat from winter storage. They said i needed a new fuel line on the pressure sde of the fuel pump.Stated the new ethonal gas corrodes the existing rubber lines causing a fire/ explosion hazard. I told them I would do the repair myself. Now the ??. they were going to replace with metal line. Can I use steel brake line ? flexible copper ? or just replace with new rubber hose like I have been useing for years ?. Thanks

There should NOT be rubber hose on a pressure side.Get yourself a double flaring kit , some steel brake line, a tubing bender and make your own line.

Yes, replace it with a steel tube, brake line is perfect. Don't use copper as it can fatigue. I made up one from a brake line and it wasn't too terribly difficult, though I did need to get a second brake line as I fudged up the first one, bent it in the wrong spot....

After making the fuel line, you will need to support the line with a clamp (rubber coated steel) somewhere along the middle of the run. This isn't really to hold the line up, but to reduce vibration and keep the tube from breaking.
