Mercruiser 140 Hp hesitation coming out of the hole

Folks:

This question has probably been asked many times before.

1987 Mercruiser 140 HP with the Mercarbs bogs on coming out of the hole. Not really conducive to pulling skiers/tubes. Can someone direct me to info to solve?

Could be the accelerator pump in the carb, or a complete carb rebuild.
May also need a tuneup. When was the last time it was tuned up?

As was said, it could be simple idle air/fuel adjustment + timing, or could need a complete tune up or rebuild on the carb. I would try cheap first. Go get some carb and choke cleaner and run the engine and spray it in there. Use most of the can, it will take a while, but it really does help. Then follow the manual for how to tune the air/fuel idle screws. This might get it, but if not, you have bigger problems.
