Last year, due to a bilge pump failure (and me leaving the drain plug in?!?!!) my bilge, oil pan and crank filled with water and the starter got ruined. Changed the oil (a ton of water came out) and starter, ran it once, maybe twice, before winterizing it....took it out for the first time last night, ran good, other than some initial hesitation (which by looking at the filter looks like it may have been water in the gas).....tonight, checked the oil, and it was cream colored.....when I checked it last night, it was hard to see on the dip stick....tried to drain it, its real thick, so thick I cant get it out thru the thru hull oil drain hose I installed. I'm not sure if its leftover water from last year, or a new problem. The boat ran great, good temp, a little low oil pressure, but no problems with operation....draining it right now, is there some way to flush it out before refilling with fresh oil? Will water in the oil make it super thick? Last year, when I drained it, it was obvious water that came out, but this year, no water at all...just thick cream colored oil ?!?!?!

i use diesel in the crankcase some folks say its ok to run it ie my old timer neighbor but i dont i just put a gallon of it in there and let it sit 24 hrs drain and fill with fresh oil i like to run a oil priming tool just to get fresh oil flowing first

It get's more whipped than thick and doesn't flow very well to drain.

If you only changed your oil once after the bilge pump problem then it's probable you didn't get all the water out.

It can take a few oil changes to get it all out.

I don't know this from personal experience of course.
