Where is number one cylinder on this motor. I have put in new plugs cap rotor condensor points. Not sure what to set the point gap to. How do you set dwell on this thing as well. It has been a long time and any tips would help. When I put the light on the first cylinder to the bow the timing mark on the balancer is not in sight with the light advance at 0. When I advance the light to 60 it is still off the tab but around 20 degrees. It seems to idle fine have yet to take it to the lake and run it out. I am concerned about this timing thing. The balancer appears to be rubbing the motor mount. Could this be the culprit. Maybe it moved but it should be keyed. Also when I try to bring the timing back it kills it. Feel free to ask me what you need to because right now I have a beached clam. The motor is in a 1977 Mark Twain inline gm 6cylinder. Brian

I got a dwell meter today. I will repost after figuring everything out. Thanks again for the manual link. Brian
