Mercruiser 165hp I6 valve cover gasket

I have a 1976 Mercruiser I6 250cu in engine. I am getting oil into the bilge and I think (hope) it is coming from the rear of the valve cover gasket. Can I go to my local auto parts store and get a valve cover gasket for a '76 250cu in I6 truck engine or should I go to my marine store and get the Mercruiser gasket? I have put 6 or 7 days on the water on my boat since rebuilding her and am getting more and more confident each time I go out. I would be right pleased if I could solve the oil consumption issue!

???? I said you can use one from a normal auto parts shop... From any 250 in-line 6 GM truck.... :facepalm:
