my experience if you bend the arm you probably ruined the switch. Adjustment is made by adjusting the shift cable. It's in the manual. Someone here probably has a link to the pdf. It's probably in the frequently asked questions, but that doesn't seem to be working.

There is no adjustment on the switch, and it should never need adjusting. Sounds like you are trying to adjust the switch to cure a problem that adjusting the swtich isn't going to do.
You best bet would be to state what your actual problem is, not how to adjust something that isn't adjustable.
I also assume you don't have a service manual handy, so here is a link to the outdrive manual for your drive.

Ayuh,....... My Guess is you actually need a New Lower Shift Cable..........
