I just bought a complete 350 mag efi motor. It came with all accessories, manifolds/risers, wiring harness, fuel pump, serpentine setup, all the hoses. Its all together and was ran on a test stand for me. It is a 1998 model engine that had a Bravo 1 drive.

My question is, my current boat project had a 260/alpha1 from 1984. The motor is trash, but the drive is good. What kind of compatibility issues am I facing to use my alpha1?

OR-
I may just buy a Bravo setup complete and use that.

You will have to replace the ECM for sure, the Bravo ECM is not programmed for use with the shift interrupt system needed for the Alpha drives.
There may be more, but without any information of vintage of either engine, it's hard to say what else will fit or not.

Well, you don't want to run that new engine with an Alpha 1 OD. An Alpha 1 is ok up to 300 hp, over that can damage the OD. Also, what kind of RPMs are you going to turn with that new motor? Remember that Alpha 1 is rated only for 5,000 RPMs and under. Going over the 5,000 RPM limit will damage your OD. Hope this helps, Bob
